Betty Headley, 78, of Fairfield, died at 8:52 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 2006, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

A service was held this morning at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Traverce Harrison officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.

Memorials to the VFW Ladies auxiliary may be sent to 306 S. Court St., Fairfield 52556.

Mrs. HEADLEY was born May 14, 1927, in Aurora, Neb., the daughter of Joseph R. and Hattie Wilson PETERS. She married Lester “Bud” HEADLEY March 19, 1950, in Fairfield. He died Dec. 6, 2002.

Mrs. HEADLEY was a lifetime employee of Fairfield Flower Shop.

Mrs. HEADLEY was a member of First Christian Church in Fairfield and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She enjoyed all types of flowers, playing cards and spending time with her family.

Survivors include one son, Ron HEADLEY of Fairfield; two daughters, Ange LEE and husband Jerry of Wellman and Kelly HAHN and husband Larry of Fairfield; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, John PETERS of Fort Madison and Kenneth PETERS of Ridge Manor, Fla.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson; seven siblings, Mary, Vada, Ted, Ralph, Gale, Virgil and Lyle.
