Helen L. LYNN, 87, formerly of Brighton, died at 4:15 a.m. Sunday, May 21, 2006, at Washington County Hospital following a brief illness.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brighton United Church, with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating. The body has been cremated. Private burial at Hillcrest Cemetery will be held later.

Memorials to Parkview Home in Wayland or Brighton United Church may be left at the church or mailed to the family.

Arrangements are in the care of Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.

Mrs. LYNN was born Sept. 30, 1918, in Fairfield to Isaac R. and Lydia H. Stunkard ALLISON. She married Harold H. LYNN in Ainsworth Sept. 11, 1949. He died Oct. 24, 2003.

Mrs. LYNN attended Pleasant Plain elementary and graduated from Brighton High School in 1937. She had worked at the telephone office in Brighton, clerked in Walter Hagen’s grocery and worked as a waitress in the Brighton Café. She was a homemaker and lived on the same farm for 54 years before moving to Parkview Home in Wayland in 2003.

Mrs. Lynn was a member of Brighton United Church, Martha Circle and Edgar C. Davison Legion Auxiliary in Brighton.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald R. ELMORE and wife Ann of Mount Pleasant and John LYNN and wife Martha of Brighton; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; three brothers, Russell, Merle and Richard ALLISON; and one sister, Margaret DEUTSCH.
