Domenica “Minnie” BORG, 90, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Fairfield, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at Park Place Long Term Care Unit in Mount Pleasant.

A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Nov. 20 at St. Charles Catholic Church in San Carlos, Calif. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma, Calif.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at White Oaks Chapel in San Carlos, with a vigil from 7-8 p.m.

Memorials have been established to UNICEF and the Dar Tal Providenca Orphanage in Malta. Memorials may be dropped off at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel or mailed to PO Box 656, Mount Pleasant.

Mrs. BORG was born June 30, 1916 in Mosta, Malta, the daughter of Carmelo and Angela Fenech MUSCAT. She married Carmelo “Charles” BORG May 4, 1939, in Malta.

Mrs. BORG entered the United States in 1939, settling in San Francisco and later in Gilroy and San Carlos, Calif. She spent the later part of her life in Fairfield and Mount Pleasant. She was a private chef for estate homes in Malta and California. She also cooked for Many Oaks Retirement Home and Sequoia Hospital. She was a member of a catering business with friends.

Mrs. BORG was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in California, St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fairfield and St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant.

She enjoyed singing and entertaining guests.

Survivors include two sons, Charles BORG of San Francisco and Richard BORG and wife Rosalie of Fairfield; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Paul MUSCAT of Malta, Anthony MUSCAT of Redwood City, Calif., and Rene’ MUSCAT of Australia; and two sisters, Francesca FARRUGA of Malta and Doris BORG of Sonoma, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one daughter-in-law; and seven siblings.
