Larry E. GAUS, 63, of Fairfield, died early Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dick Wallarab officiating. The body will be cremated following the service.

Open visitation began at 10 a.m. today and will go until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6-8:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Walton Golf Club. Cards and memorials may be sent to 2310 Walton Lake Drive, Fairfield 52556.

GAUS was born Jan. 16, 1943, in Lewistown, Mo., the son of Leo and Mildred Lewis GAUS. He was previously married to Linda HUEBOTTER. He married Gail Koch CARCIA Dec. 13, 1986, in Van Buren County.

Mr. GAUS was a member of the Fairfield community for 40 years. He was foreman and supervisor with Performance Pipe and also owned and operated Ben’s Honda. Since retirement, he had a lawn care service.

Mr. GAUS was a board member of Walton Club. He was a member of BPOE No. 1192, Eagles Lodge No. 1927 and VFW Post 2271, all of Fairfield.

He enjoyed NASCAR, motorcycles, hunting, fishing, and golf, as well as spending time with his granddaughters and pets.

Survivors include his wife; his parents, Leo GAUS and Mildred Lewis GAUS, both of Lewistown, Mo.; one daughter, Lori STRANGE and husband Kent of Knox City, Mo.; two grandchildren; two sisters Judy DORAN and Brenda VAUGHN, both of Ewing, Mo.; and one brother, Bill GAUS of Omaha, Neb.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert GAUS.
