George Vincent GEVOCK, 69, of Washington, Iowa, died Friday, May 5, 2006, at Washington County Hospital following a sudden illness.

A service was held at 10:30 a.m. today at Jones–Eden Funeral Home in Washington. Interment was in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery in East Pleasant Plain.

A general memorial has been established.

Mr. GEVOCK was born Oct. 17, 1936, in Brighton, the son of Vincent and Mary Franzen GEVOCK. He was previously married to Carol North GEVOCK.

Mr. GEVOCK attended school at Walnut Rural School No. 5. He lived in Washington for the past 21 years and lived in the Germanville area prior to moving to Washington.

Survivors include three daughters, Karen MINEART of Pleasant Plain, Teresa JOHNSON of Woodbridge, Va., and Michelle WILLIAMS of North Liberty; two sons, Duane GEVOCK of Florence, Mont., and Larry GEVOCK of Fairfield; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Arlene SCHMITT of Washington, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Daniel; and one daughter, Marilyn.
