Arrangements are pending at Kremer Funeral Chapel in Batavia.

Friday, April 21, 2006, pg. 10.Laird B. EMRY, 81, of Batavia, died Wednesday, April 19, 2006, in the long-term care center at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.
A service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kremer Funeral Chapel in Batavia, with his son-in-law Dave BENSON officiating. Interment will be in Batavia Cemetery.
Open visitation will begin at noon Friday at the funeral chapel, with family present from 7-8 p.m. Friday.
Memorials may be directed to Southeast Iowa Hospice.
Mr. EMRY was born Jan. 19, 1925, in Fairfield, the son of James and Tillie Neuhart EMRY. He married Aileen KEPLER in 1944.
Mr. EMRY raised and educated in Fairfield. He graduated from Fairfield High School and later attended Parsons College in Fairfield. He and his wife farmed near Batavia for 62 years.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Sharon BENSON and husband Dave of Floris, Susie GREINER and husband Ronnie of Douds and Deborah SWOPE and husband Darrell of Ottumwa; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lena RIGGINS.

Thursday, April 20, 2006.BATAVIA — Laird B. EMRY, age 81 of Batavia, entered into new life on April 19, 2006, at the long term care center at the Jefferson Co. Hospital in Fairfield.
He was born on Jan. 19, 1925 in Fairfield to James and Tillie Neuhart EMRY. He married Aileen KEPLER in 1944.
He was raised and educated in Fairfield, graduating from Fairfield High School and later attended Parsons College in Fairfield. He and his wife farmed on the same farm near Batavia for 62 years.
He is survived by his wife; his daughters, Sharon BENSON and her husband Dave of Floris, Susie GRIENER and her husband Ronnie of Douds and Deborah SWOPE and her husband Darrell of Ottumwa; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Lena RIGGINS.
Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon 2 o’clock at the Kremer Funeral Chapel in Batavia with his son-in-law Dave BENSON officiating. Interment will be in the Batavia Cemetery.
Open visitation will begin at noon on Friday with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Chapel.
