Thomas Donald CARR, 81, of Fairfield, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 20, 2006, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield, with his nephew, the Rev. Michael Carr, and the Rev. Stephen Page officiating. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery in Albia will follow the funeral luncheon.

Open visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Monday at Behner Funeral Home, where the family will be present beginning at 6 p.m. with a Rosary recitation by Knights of Columbus, followed by Prayers for a Christian Wake.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield and sent to 706 E. Burlington Ave., Fairfield 52556.

Mr. CARR was born Nov. 17, 1924, in Melrose, the son of William Henry and Frances Walsh CARR. He married Loretta HUNTER March 17, 1980, at St. Mary Catholic Church.

Mr. CARR was a graduate of Albia High School. He was a resident of Albia for several years before moving to Fairfield. He was an equipment operator for the Iowa Department of Transportation for 33 years before retiring in 1986.

Mr. CARR was a 50-year member of Knights of Columbus, as well as a parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife; one sister, Marie STUFFLEBEAM of Centerville; and three stepsons, Monte HUNTER and wife Elizabeth of rural Fairfield, Jeffrey HUNTER and wife Patti of Mount Pleasant and Randall HUNTER of Mount Pleasant.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Rita SULENTIC; and three brothers, Raymond, Patrick and Charles CARR.
