Jerry Murl CARR, 59, of Madelia, Minn., formerly of Douds, died at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006, at Augustana Health Care Center in Minneapolis, Minn.

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia. A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Leando Cemetery in Douds, with the Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating.

Family visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds.

Memorials may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at P.O. Box 54, Cantril 52542.

Mr. CARR was born Sept. 21, 1946, in Ottumwa, the son of Murl and Madelyn Elsensohn CARR. He married Linda SMITH; they later divorced.

Mr. CARR graduated from Van Buren High School in 1964. He lived in the Douds area until moving to Madelia in 1981. He had been employed as a livestock buyer, seed salesman and truck salesman. He had suffered a stroke in April of 2005.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing and taking trips to a casino with this family.

Survivors include two daughters, Shari NELSON and husband William of St. James, Minn., and Cindy LARSON and husband Chris of Eagan, Minn.; two sons, Curtis CARR and wife Julie of St. James and Andy CARR and wife Nicole of Manchester, N.H.; his mother; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Jane GRAF of Bloomfield.

He was preceded in death by his father and one infant sister, Judith CARR.
