Wade BENSON, 13, of Hedrick, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa.

A service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Prairie View Methodist Church in rural Ollie, with the Rev. Vince Homan and the Rev. Shirley Hoffman-Will officiating.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the church.

A memorial fund has been established.

Arrangements are in the care of Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney.

Wade was born Oct. 10, 1993, in Ottumwa, the son of Bob and Kathy Rasmussen BENSON.

Wade was in seventh grade at Pekin Middle School. He was involved in youth rodeo, Patriotic Panther, 4-H Club, baseball, basketball, football and soccer.

He enjoyed fishing, riding horses and playing card and video games.

Survivors include his father and wife Sara BENSON of Hedrick; his mother and husband Guy MCCLURE of Des Moines; two sisters, Ashton BENSON and Lydia MCCLURE; two stepsisters, Mackenzie and Olivia MCCLURE; one stepbrother, Guy W. MCCLURE; his grandparents, Dean and Carol BENSON of Sigourney and Ed and Caroline RASMUSSEN of Newton; four great-grandparents, Harvey and Leatrice BENSON of Sigourney, Marvel CLEMENTS of Newton and Wilma MOORE of Delta; and one stepgrandmother, Mary Irene MCDONALD of Muscatine.
