Stephen M. BARTON

Stephen M. BARTON, 66, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006.

A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield, with the Rev. Mike Metz officiating. The body has been cremated.

Memorials may be made to the children’s library of the Fairfield Public Library.

Mr. BARTON was born Sept. 20, 1939, in Des Moines, the son of Maynard O. and Myrtle B. STANSBERRY BARTON.

Mr. BARTON graduated from Fairfield High School in 1957. He was a machinist with Nelson Company.

Mr. BARTON was a NASCAR fan and had a passion for cars and motorcycles. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends and coworkers.

Survivors include one sister, Marybelle JENN of Waterloo and one daughter, Tiffany CASSAS of Fairfield.
