Albert JACOBS, a well known and highly respected resident of Jefferson county, passed away last evening at 6:30 o'clock at his home three miles northeast of Salina. He has long been ill with cancer of the face and for the past eight months had been bedfast.

He was born near Four Corners on April 11, 1854, being at the time of his death 62 years 1 month and 11 days old. All his life has been spent in this county, and his friends are many, for he was a man who commanded the respect of everyone.

Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, Harry of near Salina, and Roy and Lloyd who live at home. He also leaves two sisters and three brothers: Mrs. C.P. MOBURG of this city; Mrs. Frank JACOBSON of Ottumwa, Frank JACOBS, Henry JACOBS and August JACOBS who all live near Salina.

The funeral services will be Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock (sic) from the Swedish Lutheran Church at New Sweden in charge of Rev. Swanson, and the remains will be interred in the cemetery nearby.
