Death of an Old Fairfieldian.

The remains of Henry G. KNEPP, who was a resident of this city from October, 1855, to 1878, were brought here for interment Saturday night. He died at the home of M. E. GILBERT, a soninlaw, in Chicago Friday (sic - December 9th) from paralysis. He had been in ill health since 1893 and for a year and a half had been almost helpless. Mr. KNEPP was born in Mifflin county, Pena., February 29th, 1824, grew to manhood there and was married to Miss Mary FEE January 22d, 1852. They came to this city in October, 1855. Mrs. KNEPP died June 3d, 1893. One child, Mrs. GILBERT, survives the parents. The family removed from Fairfield in 1878, resided for a time in Burlington and Ft. Madison and then went to Chicago. Among older residents of Fairfield Mr. KNEPP had many friends who were pained to learn of his death. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Sabbath afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. F. Magill, and the body was interred in the City cemetery, where that of the wife lies. Mrs. GILBERT, accompanied by Mrs. J. P. Wightman of Evanston, Ill., brought the remains to this city.
