DEATH OF JOHN MOORE. "Uncle Johnny" MOORE, a resident of Fairfield since 1854, died in this city Saturday morning after an illness of several months from a disease of the nature of paralysis. Mr. MOORE was a native of Huntingdon County, Penn., where he was born May 14th, 1811. He grew to manhood and spend most of his life there until his removal to this state. He was never married, and much of his life here was spent in the retirement of bachelor quarters. In earlier days Mr. MOORE was a member of the Seceder Church. He was a man of the strictest honesty and had always led an exemplary life, and those who knew him best held him in the highest esteem. It is said that he was the last surviving member of his branch of the MOORE family. During his last illness he was carefully nursed by Mrs. W. A. STEWART, a niece, and his old neighbors rendered him many kind offices. The remains were interred Sunday, Rev. S. C. Chatham of the Lutheran Church conducting the funeral services.
