DIED.

EDMISTON.--At the residence of her husband, in this city, Feb. 16, 1876, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth EDMISTON, aged 41 years 1 month and 10 days.

The deceased was born in Pennsylvania, January 6, 1835, and was the daughter of E. C. HAMPSON. She moved with her parents to this city in 1844. She was married to James EDMISTON Dec. 4th, 1851. In early life she was converted, and became a member of the Baptist Church of this city twelve years ago, and continued a faithful member of that church until the day of her death.

Her health began to fail about 18 months ago, her disease being Consumption. She was satisfied for months past that her end was drawing nigh. She patiently endured her affliction, as a christian only can. When she found herself approaching the dark river she set her house in order. To husband and children she left her parting blessing, and made all necessary arrangements in detail for her funeral--selecting the hymns she wished used on the occasion, and the person she wished to play the organ. Thus prepared, on the morning of the 16th ult., at half past 9 o'clock, without one struggle or a groan, she fell asleep in the arms of her loving Saviour. On the following day, after appropriate services at the house, conducted by her Pastor, her remains were followed to their last resting place by a large concourse of weeping friends, the most of whom had known her from her childhood. She leaves an affectionate husband and two children, besides numerous friends, to mourn her loss.
