The remains of the late Eli LAWSON of Ottumwa, who was here last week on the mission of burying his wife's mother, are expected here today.... His death was sudden and unexpected and the family suffering this double bereavement have the heartfelt sympathy of their friends.

DEATH OF ELI LAWSON. Deceased was a brother of Andy LAWSON, of this city, and in regard to his death, which occurred last week in Ottumwa, the "Daily Ottumwa Courier" of the 15th inst. says: While loading coal into his wagon yesterday afternoon shortly before 3 o'clock, Eli D. LAWSON, who resides southwest of the city, dropped dead, being a victim of heart disease. Mr. LAWSON was in apparent good health and his sudden death came as a severe shock to his bereaved wife and daughter and his many friends. He was about 48 years old and had resided in this city several years. For the past several weeks he had been employed by a dealer in coal located in South Ottumwa. He was a member of Glenwood Camp No. 1740, M.W.A.. The funeral services were held at the residence this morning at 9 o'clock... The remains were taken to Fairfield this morning on Burlington No. 10. Interment was made there at 2 o'clock this afternoon.
