E. K. BROWN Dead.

E. K. BROWN, the proprietor of the depot grocery in this city, died Friday evening at his home after a painful illness of 10 days. More than 20 years ago Mr. BROWN was a resident of Fairfield and was married here in 1872 to Miss Margaret JEFFERS. About 19 years ago he removed to Nebraska, afterwards to Ida County, Iowa, and thence to Dakota, returning to this city a little more than a year ago. He then purchased an interest in a west side grocery, and finally removed near the Q depot. He was a man of quiet manner, but an excellent citizen and highly esteemed by those who knew him best. His wife and three children -- a son and two daughters -- survive him. The remains were interred in this city Sunday. The funeral was largely attended. Rev. W. G. Thorn conducted the services.
