WILL BE LAID TO REST IN FAIRFIELD.

Mr. and Mrs. John W. HAMPSON of Kansas City, Mo., are in Fairfield awaiting the arrival of the remains of their son Joseph whose death was noted a few days ago as having occurred recently in Los Angeles, Cal.

The body is expected to arrive in Fairfield within a day or two and will be taken immediately to Evergreen cemetery for interrment in the HAMPSON family lot. The young man, as noted previously in The Journal, was born in Albia, but most of his boyhood and young manhood was passed in Fairfield with his grandmother, Mrs. Rachel HAMPSON who is also here at this time to pay her last token of affectionate care and concern.

The father and mother and grandmother have the kindly rememberance and sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends in this city during these days of their sojourn in Fairfield. This circle of friends includes all of John W. HAMPSON's surviving comrades of the Third Iowa Cavalry.
