Obit. Sarah C., daughter of Elias and Catherine RUBEY, born near Augusta, in Lee Co., Iowa Apr 16 1853, moving with her parents a few years later to Appanoose County, Iowa, and purchased a farm near Salina.....soon after this her father and two elder brothers enlisted in the Union army. Sept 12 1872 married John N. Corey (CW sol.); 12 children, five preceded the parents in death. One was Warren, killed at Seattle, Wash.....she also leaves two sisters, Mrs Mary T. R. COPPOCK of Fairfield, and Mrs Zella IGOE of Creston, and two brothers, Geo. RUBEY of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Hiram RUBEY of Coal Valley, Ill.....Member Church of God at Lower Richwoods.....(Bur. Lower Richwoods Cemetery, Jeff. Co. Rec. V. 6.)
