SERVICES FOR S. A. DONOVAN WEDNESDAY
Resident of Jefferson county for 52 years

Funeral services for Simpson A. DONOVAN, 84, long time Jefferson county resident who died at the county hospital Saturday morning (note: December 30, 1939), will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Hoskins funeral home. Services will be in charge of the Reverend M. A. Gable, burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

S. A. DONOVAN had been in failing health for the last two years and had been a patient in the hospital since Christmas day.

He was born August 8, 1855, near Brighton, moving to a farm near Fairfield in 1887. He retired from active farming several years ago. His wife, Tillia (sic - Matilda 'Tillie') DONOVAN, preceded him in death in 1933 (sic - 1923).

Surviving are one daughter; Mrs. Gus MULLENIX, Fairfield; three sons, Arthur, Morrison, Ill.; Guy S. and Edward R., both of Fairfield, and seven grandchildren.

State of Iowa, Jefferson County, ss:

To All Whom It May Concern:

Notice is hereby given that an instrument, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of S. A. DONOVAN, Deceased, is now on file in the office of the Clerk of the District Court of Jefferson County, and that Tuesday, January 30, A. D. 1940 at 9:30 o'clock A. M. has been set for proof and final hearing of same.

Witness my hand and the seal of said Court, this 4th day of January, 1940 .
