JAMES LIBLIN DIED LAST NIGHT
Came To This County When Thirteen Years Old; Lived on Same Farm 58 Years

James LIBLIN died last night at 8:30 o'clock at his home near Salina after a several weeks illness.

He was born in France and came to this country when a small lad, five years old, and with his parents settled in St. Louis, where they lived eight years and then came to Cedar township.

He was married to Elizabeth DROZ, 65 years ago, and to this union were born the following surviving children: Mrs. George B. PARSONS, Mrs. Samuel JERREL, James LIBLIN, L. J. LIBLIN; Mrs. S. D. PARSONS, Jewell KELLER, Joe and John LIBLIN, all of this county, and Frank LIBLIN of Peoria, Ill.

Mr. and Mrs. LIBLIN have resided on the same farm where Mr. LIBLIN passed away, for 8 years, and they are a highly respected family of this county. This is the first death that has occurred in their immediate family.

Funeral services will be from the home at 9:00 o'clock (sic) Monday morning and will be in charge of Rev. E. F. Gaule of St. Mary's Catholic church.

LAST RITES FOR JAMES LIBLIN

Held Yesterday Morning and Burial At Pattison Cemetery

Funeral mass for James LIBLIN, who died Friday night, was held yesterday morning at 8 oclock at St. Mary's Catholic church and service were held at the home near Salina at 9 oclock in charge of Rev. E. F. Gaule. Interment was made in the Pattison Cemetery.

The pallbearers were six of his grandsons: Floyd PARSONS, Norvell PARSONS, Rollie PARSONS, Clifford JERREL, Ralph KELLER and Marshall KELLER. Mrs. Ed Weston sang two solos at the house.

Alex LIBLIN of Ottumwa, a brother, was in attendance at the funeral.

On account of the bad roads the funeral party was conveyed in carriages to the cemetery, there being 10 buggies in the procession.
