DEATH OF MRS. SARAH YOUNG. Daughter of James A. and Emma GALLIHER, born in Danville, Ill., July 13 1833. Her mother died when she was but four or five years old. The family came to Iowa in 1840, settling on a farm east of Fairfield.....she married Nathaniel W. YOUNG Oct 4 1855, the wedding taking place at the old homestead. Mr and Mrs YOUNG began housekeeping in Harrison County, W. Va. They returned to Iowa in 1859, settling near Fairfield, where they remained until 1881, when they moved to a farm near Stuart, Iowa. Mr. YOUNG died Sept 28 1899.....Seven children, one boy having died in infancy (See Galliher Cemetery, [Jefferson County Records], Vol. 2), leaving four daughters and three sons. The sons are: J.G., for some years a minister of the M. E. Church, of the Des Moines Conference, but now living in Oklahoma; E. A. and C. W. of this city. The daughters are: Hannah E. WREN, of Oklahoma; Effie, of Boulder, Colo., and Ollie and Nellie of Fairfield.....The end came Jan. 17, 1906. Laid to rest beside her husband at Stuart, Iowa.

SHE WAS A PIONEER WOMAN. Mrs. Sarah E. YOUNG died in this city Wed., daughter of James A. GALLIHER, a pioneer settler and official of Jefferson County. He purchased land here in 1838 and brought his family to the county in 1840.....In 1875 the Nathaniel W. YOUNG family removed to Stuart.....Mrs. YOUNG returned to Fairfield in 1900 and has since made her home here.....Body taken to Stuart for interment.
