OBITUARY

MRS. BELLE GREEN

Belzora KNIGHT GREEN was born in St. Clarisville, Ohio, February 26, 1858, and departed this life at her home in Fairfield, Iowa, January 25, 1926. She was next to the youngest of a family of sixteen children, only one of whom, Mrs. Glendora PUGSLEY, Los Angeles, Calif., survives.

When six years of age she came to Iowa, with her mother, brothers, and sisters, the father having passed away a few years previous.

ON March 1, 1877 she was united in marriage to Dennis C. GREEN. To this union seven children were born, four of whom survive: Mrs. W. S. SHAW and Edith May GREEN, Fairfield, Ia.; Oscar GREEN, Bowmount, Idaho and Mrs. Donald BLUNK, Ottumwa, IA. Mr. GREEN died September 7, 1912. They both united with the Methodist Episcopal church at Prairie Chapel near Perlee, Iowa, on the same day, June 30, 1872, seven years prior to their marriage.

Besides her children and one sister, she leaves eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends to mourn her loss.

She had been in ill health for several years, and for the greater part of the past seven months was confined to her bed. Her suffering was constant and severe but she bore it with patience.

She lived an active live, always thoughtful of others especially her family. Her love for flowers was very great and she gave much time to raising and cultivating them.

Her faith in God and the home over there was wonderful and victorious. She made all arrangements for her funeral and gave such tender and wholesome messages to each of her family and left a message of love for her friends and neighbors who had been so kind to her.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at two-thirty oclock by Rev. R. H. Polly of the Christian church. Mrs. C. M. Graham and J. H. Stuckey sang the songs she had requested: "He's the One," "No Not One" and "In That City." Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery.

OBITUARY

MRS. D. C. GREEN

Balzora (Belle) KNIGHT, of English parentage, was born at St. Clairsville, Ohio, February 26, 1858 and died at her home 207 West Madison street Fairfield, Iowa January 25, 1926.

On March 1st, 1877 she was married to Dennis C. GREEN who died September 7th, 1912. Mr. and Mrs. GREEN both united with the M. E. church at Prairie Chapel on June 30, 1872 five years prior to their marriage.

Seven children were born to them, three of whom died in infancy. Her father, mother, two grandchildren and fourteen brothers and sisters also preceeded (sic) her in death.

Four children, eight grandchildren and one sister Mrs. Glendora BUGSLEY (sic) of Los Angeles, California, survive her. Her surviving children are Mrs. W. S. SHAW of Fairfield, Iowa, May at home, Oscar S. of Bowmont, Idaho, and Mrs. D. J. BLUNK of Ottumwa, Iowa, all of whom were with her at the time of her death.

Mrs. GREEN had been in ill health for several years and for the past seven months had been confined her bed a great part of the time.

Her suffering was severe and from it she welcomed death as a sweet release. During the last few days of life she repeatedly talked to her family of her entrance into the hereafter, expressing her willingness to go, her only regret being that she must leave her loved ones grieving for her, but softening the grief as best she could be the assurance that she would never be far from them.

Her passage into Spirit Land was beautiful and triumphant, made so by her faith and trust in the One who as she said would go with her across the river of death and she looked forward joyfully to a reunion with loved ones on the other side.

She made arrangements for her funeral which was conducted from the M. E. church by Rev. R. H. Polly of the Christian church Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Polly read the same scripture lesson that had been read at Mr. GREEN's funeral thirteen years ago. Mrs. C. M. Graham and Mr. J. H. Stuckey beautifully sand the songs she had selected, "No, Not One," "In That City," and "Yes, There Is One."

She was a woman who made many and lasting friends who will regret the passing of a good woman and a kind neighbor.
