HAROLD C. SHELDON FUNERAL TUESDAY

Harold C. Sheldon, former Lockridge School superintendent passed away last Friday evening suddenly from a heart attack at his home south of Lockridge. He had been in public school work for 30 years and resigned from the Stockport school after three years to devote full time to farming.

Sheldon was born September 19, 1897, at Riceville, Iowa, the son of Fred C. and Lora Judd Sheldon. He was married to Joy Paton December 20, 1920, at Riceville. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the American Legion. He was also a member of the Riceville Methodist church.

He is survived by his wife and three children, Mrs. Gwendolyn Gipple and Mrs. Margaret Kongable, both of Columbus Junction, and George C. Sheldon, Stockport. His parents, who now live in Pasadena, Calif., also survive, together with two brothers, Ralph Sheldon, Pasadena, Robert Sheldon, Alexandria, Minn., and one granddaughter.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Round Prairie Baptist church conducted by Rev. Robert Erlandson. Burial was at Columbus Junction where the American Legion of Stockport held military rites at the grave. His father came from California to attend the funeral.-- Lockridge Times.
