FUNERAL FOR PIONEER. Mrs. Absalom HESTON, 95, pioneer resident of Fairfield, died Sat. evening at Jefferson County Hospital. Behner Funeral Home. Bur. Evergreen Cemetery.

Emma CARMAN, daughter of Edward and Mary CLARK CARMAN, born in Wapello County, Iowa, July 16, 1854; married Oct. 14, 1890; husband died in 1938.

One son, Albert E., lives in Portland, Ore.. Another son, Lorenzo R., preceded her in death. Six grandchildren are among the survivors. Also survived by two stepdaughters, Mrs. Mae BRYANT of Independence, Kan., and Mrs. Pearl SMITH, Benedict, Minn. Mrs. Bertha HESTON, widow of a stepson, William, lives in Fairfield. Member Free Methodist Church; spent practically all her life in Fairfield.
