Mrs. Caroline C. COWAN was born Apr. 3, 1828, in Allegheny Co., Penn., and died at her home in Libertyville May 9, 1897. Mar. 11, 1852, she was married to James COWAN and a few days later started for Iowa. Settled in Van Buren County, and a year later moved to Jefferson County where she remained until her death. Maiden name was CHRISTY. Buried in Fell Cemetery.
