FAIRFIELD DAILY JOURNAL, Thursday, November 7, 1907, Page 2, col. 3. John W. Canady, a brother of Mrs. Andrew Gantz of this city, died last Thursday afternoon at 12:45 o'clock at the home of his brother, Hugh H. Canady in Ottumwa. Mr. Canady formerly lived at Perkins, Okla., going to Ottumwa for an extended visit with his brother only about a year ago. He was a member of the Perkins G.A.R. Post and a highly esteemed citizen of that city. He served in the Civil War, being a member of the Ninth Iowa Cavalry. He was enlisted in this city in 1863 and served faithfully until the closing of the war. At the time of his death Mr. Canady was 66 years of age. Funeral held Saturday and body laid to rest in Ottumwa Cemetery....
