OBIT. Nathan P. CLARRIDGE, born Fayette Co., Ohio, Mar. 14, 1843, died at his home near Libertyville at 6 a.m. Jan. 18. Early in life he removed with his parents to Jefferson County, where he spent his days, except three years in the late Civil War.

Aug. 9, 1862, he enlisted in Co. B, 19th Iowa Infantry, and was honorably discharged July 10, 1865. He was in the following engagements: Battle of Prairie Grove, Ark., Dec. 7, 1862; raid on Van Buren, Ark., December, 1862; siege of Vicksburg, Miss., 1863; Capture of Yazoo City, July 14th, 1863; skirmishes at Franklin Creek, Miss., December 1864; battle, siege and occupation of Spanish Fort, Ala., March and April, 1865.

After his return from the army he attended Axline's academy at Fairfield, and while in this school made the acquaintance of Miss Sarah E. MILLER, whom he married February 21st, 1867.

Four children; two living. His wife died about a year and a half ago. Mr. CLARRIDGE was a quiet and respected citizen, strictly honest and upright as a business man, and kind and considerate in social life. He was a member of Lewis G. Balding Post, G.A.R, and served as adjutant from the time of its organization. He had long been a member of the Presbyterian Church of Libertyville, in which faith he died.... Members of the post conducted the burial service at the Fell Cemetery....
