The FAIRFIELD TRIBUNE, Wednesday, June 19, 1912, Page 4, col. 4. ANOTHER PIONEER GONE. Isaac Sharp was born near Cumberland Gap, Tenn., January 8, 1822, and died at Des Moines, Iowa, June 12, 1912, at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Amanda Rodgers...He was of English and Welsh parents, and when he was about 13 years of age he emigrated to Ill.; there he married to Miss Susannah Wilson, and in 1841 came with his family to this county where he engaged in farming and stock raising on his farm about five miles northwest of this city. Eight children, some of whom died in infancy; one daughter at the age of 18 years. The children living are his sons, James in Calif., Henry in Oregon, William in Nebr., and daughter, Amanda Rodgers at Des Moines, Iowa. His wife died in 1886 and in 1897 he went to Santa Rosa, Calif., and in 1909 returned to Des Moines...Buried in the family lot in Evergreen Cemetery June 14, 1912...
