BATAVIA. Mrs. Jessie L. WHITMORE, 88, died Mon. 1:55 p.m. at Jefferson County Hospital. Campbell Funeral Home. Burial at Batavia.

Born May 14, 1882, in Jefferson County, daughter of Walter S. and Ida FRISBE CAMPBELL. Most of her life was spent in the Batavia area except for a short period when she traveled with her parents to Colorado by covered wagon. She attended college at Cedar Falls and taught school in the Batavia area. Member Batavia Methodist Church. Married Harrison L. WHITMORE Sept. 12, 1907. He died in 1954.

Survived by four sons, Donald of Oelwein, Kent of Des Moines, Walter of Dexter, Mo., and Gordon of Farson; nine grandchildren; 20 grgrchn, and one sister, Mrs. Myrtle McNIEL, Batavia. Two brothers are deceased.
