MRS. JACOB POHREN, who was found dead in the garden last Friday afternoon, Apr. 15, was born in Germany Nov. 3, 1841, came to America and was married Nov. 18, 1874 to JACOB POHREN, who with ten children remains. MRS. ANDREW MURPHY and MRS. CHARLES KIENMAN, both of West Burlington; MRS. WM. BEKEL of Germanville; and MRS. CHARLES GRAF of Four Corners; W. J. PFEIFER of Valley, Iowa; JOHN POHREN of Keota, Iowa; VINCENT of Richland, Iowa; CHRIS, PETER and LEO who are still at home…Devout Catholic, member St. Mary’s church at Germanville….

FOUR CORNERS

Mrs. Jacob POHREN died very suddenly Friday. Mr. POHREN was at work in the field and came to the house about 4 o'clock. In passing the garden he saw his wife lying on the ground, face down. He went to her and found her dead from heart failure, apparently without a struggle. Mrs. POHREN was in her sixty-third year. She was the mother of ten children, all of whom are living and six married. They are Mrs. Andrew MURPHY and Mrs. Chas. KLEINHEN (sic - KIENLEN) of West Burlington, Mrs. William BEKEL of Germanville, Mrs. Chas. GRAFF of Four Corners, John of Keota, Vincent of Richland, Chris, Peter and Leo at home, and W. J. PFEIFER, a son by a former marriage, of Valley. All attended the funeral, which took place Sunday. Interment was at St. Mary's cemetery near Germanville. Services were conducted by Rev. Jacobsmeyer of Washington.
