GORMAN turning 102

Marie GORMAN of Fairfield will be turning 102 years old Sunday.

Mrs. GORMAN was born west of Batavia in Wapello County, the daughter of Jesse and Nellie LOY. She married Charley GORMAN on her birthday in 1929, and they lived in Jefferson County on a farm near her parents until retirement.

The GORMANs were married 67 years until Mr. GORMAN's death in 1996.

Mrs. GORMAN has three children, Loy GORMAN of Montrose, Colo., and his late wife Helen; Ruth LEAZER of Fairfield and her late husband Newell; and LuAnn DAVIS and husband Jerry of Fairfield. She also has nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren eight stepgrand-children and several stepgreat-grandchildren.
