Volume 2, Pages 292 & 293Jesse J. SCOTT was born Nov. 11, 1817 in Holmes County, Ohio. He married, Oct. 16, 1842, in Illinois (Streator?), Elizabeth Hale McCALL, b. Nov. 18, 1824, in Gallia County, Ohio, dau. of James C. McCALL and his wife, Elizabeth Jane NORTHUP.
Elizabeth Jane NORTHUP was dau. of Daniel NORTHUP, Revolutionary Soldier, (See "Revolutionary Soldiers Buried in Ohio," and his wife, Ann(a) (HAMPTON) (COLLINS) NORTHUP. Anna HAMPTON was dau. of John HAMPTON Jr. of "Hamptonville," Caroline County, Virginia (1st Troop, Col. Baylor's Dragoons).
Jesse SCOTT and wife were first settlers in Competine Township, Wapello County, Iowa. Their children were:
1. Susannah Lavina, b. 1 Feb. 1844, first white child born in Competine Twp., Wapello County; m. 21 Jan 1869 in Wapello Co., Wm. ALEXANDER.
2. Laura Ellen, b. 9 Sept. 1845.
3. Liberty Ann, b. 5 Feb. 1847.
4. Keziah Jane, b. 7 Apr. 1849.
5. Anvilla Claudine, b. 29 July 1851; m. 8 May 1882, Edward MOWERY; d. 22 Feb. 1890; bur. Abingdon.
6. James Winfield, b. 25 June 1854; d. 24 June 1915.
7. Mary Elizabeth, b. 25 Sept. 1856; m. 8 May 1882, Lafayette DUDGEON.
8. Livona Joy, b. 8 June 1859; m. Thomas ELLER.
9. Edward Jesse, b. 8 Aug. 1861.
10. Robert Lee, b. 31 Jan. 1864; m. 28 Dec. 1886, Eva WINSHAW.
11. Fanna, b. 5 Aug 1866; m. 1888 Wm. McREYNOLDS; d. 21 June 1910.
12. Hampton Lester, b. 11 July 1869; m. 17 Aug. 1892, at Fairfield, Iowa, Nancy Tilitha HELTON; he d. 1 Nov. 1941, bur. Wichita, Kansas.

GOBBLE, Archibald, June 15, 1812 - July 22, 1904.Archibald GOBBLE was son of Isaac GOBBLE, b. ca 1792 in Washington Co., Va., d. there 1828, and his wife Elizabeth "Betsie" MUSICK, b. Va. 27 May 1791; d. 1845-1846, Washington Co., Va. Isaac GOBBLE was son of George GOBBLE, b. 16 Feb. 1758 in Penn.; m. 18 Sept. 1782 Washington Co., Va., Elizabeth LINDER; d. 13 March 1806 in Washington Co., Va. George GOBBLE was a Captain of Maryland Troops in the Revolution.
