NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS. Proposals will be received by the Recorder of the City of Fairfield until May 20th, 1857, for the construction of Street and Alley crossings on the following streets: Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, and Church Streets. Crossings to be as follows: Solid oak blocks, three feet in length and not less than twelve inches in diameter, to be set in the ground two feet apart from centre to centre, and to project four inches above the surface.
