"Fairfield Ledger", Feb. 9, 1867, Pg. 2, Col. 4
From the "Ottumwa Courier": The friends in this city of Mrs. M. E. WOODS of Fairfield will be pleased to know that she will be granted a pension of $25 a month for her service as a nurse in the army. A better or truer friend of the sick and wounded soldier never lived than Mrs. WOODS was during the rebellion.
