Vol. 6, page 249.

Rev. Andrew Axline organized the Lutheran society in Fairfield in 1856; took charge of the Fairfield University in the fall of 1857.....Leaving his church and school, enlisted as chaplain in the 2nd Iowa Vol. Inf. Reg. Sept 1861. Born near Zanesville, Ohio, Apr 8 1831.....Went to Bloomfield in 1874; to Kansas in 1877, where he died in Arlington March 4 1897 and was buried in Pratt cemetery of that city. Rev. Andrew and Almira Stever Axline were parents of seven children: Mrs. Kate Ellis and Mrs. Mary Belle Fay of Pratt, Kansas; and L. M. Axline of Medicine Lodge, Kansas; the other four preceded their mother in death.....
