Fatley family

FARLEY, STANTON, SANTON

Looking for information on James Farley from County Cork (or so we believe) Ireland who immigrated to Canada where he married a Catherine Stanton or Santon. In 1880 they were living in Palo Alto Township in Jasper County. The 1880 census reflects James and Catherine with three children. They are not in the 1890 census. My great grandfather Thomas Farley was born near Newton in 1877 per his obituary, however, he is not reflected in the 1880 census. I believe I have the correct family as the parents and brothers' name match. Cannot understand the census discrepancy. Also Farleys may have been very active in the Catholic Church in Jasper County. Family lore has it that James Farley helped found or build the Catholic Church in Newton. I do not know if this is true or not. Any information anyone has or could find would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Ernie
