Will (William) Caldwell was born circa 1830 in Maytown, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Parents: Timothy & Martha M. (Swords) Caldwell.

Moved with the family to Millbrook, Wayne County, Ohio about 1844, shown in 1850 census with the family of Samuel & Catherine (Caldwell) Wile. Catherine is his sister.

Moved to Newville, DeKalb County, Indiana about 1855, married Amanda F. Baxter 20 October 1855. Amanda is the daughter of John & Sarah (Kelley) Baxter, born 30 May 1836 in Wayne County, Ohio.

Divorced April 1859, lost custody of his daughter Ida Marian (b:23 February 1856) who was later adopted by Ivan McFadden in 1873 and married Byron Anthony Zimmerman 16 September 1883.

Will disappeared in 1859 and no further family records for him.
