Barbara Jarnagin, 76, died Monday, Aug. 26, 2013. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Barbara Jarnagin was born Feb. 13, 1937, to Charles and Mary Helen Owens in Valeria. After graduating high school, Barbara worked as a secretary until she met her husband and became a homemaker, devoting her time to her family.

Left to cherish Barbara’s memory is her husband of 55 years, Ronald; their children, Vickie (Rick) Hegwood, Vonda (Ron) Taylor, Laurie (Jeff) Pierce, Susan Harrison, Becky Miller, Theresa (Doug) Krueger, Mike (Rak) Jarnagin and Thomas Jarnagin; grandchildren Brent (Kate), Jennie, Ryan (Sara), Amy (Michael), Nick (Katie), Alex, AJ, Chris (Suen), Quintin (Christina), Ashley (Nate), Tony (Jenae), Jason, Chelsea, Brandon, Patrick, Marcus (Sarah) and Angel; 15 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Virginia Wood.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Justin Harrison; her parents; and five siblings. ~ The Jasper County Tribune, August, 2013
