COLFAX - Funeral services for Edward Royal Teed, 58, of Oceanside, Ca., a former resident of the Colfax and Des Moines areas will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Walters-Colburn Funeral Home in Colfax.

The Rev. Philip Webb, pastor of a United Methodist Church in Ankeny, will conduct services. Burial will be in Ashton Chapel Cemetery, North of Mingo.

Friends may call at the funeral home after noon today and visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials to the Heart Association, Diabetes Association or Hospice of Central Iowa will be accepted.

He died Thursday at the Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside.

Survivors are his wife, Charlene; a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Randall Garrett of Ankeny; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerri and Dori of Des Moines and Kerri of Rancho Bernardo, Calif. and nine grandchildren.

Also surviving are three brothers, Gail and Richard, both of Colfax, and Leland of Des Moines; and six sisters, Alene Beard, Dorothy Jones and Donna Smith, all of Colfax, Ruby Beard of Mesa, Az., Bonnie Mc Cart of Corydon and Henrietta Nickell of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George.

Mr. Teed had been a welder at John Deere Co. in Ankeny prior to his retirement.

The son of Gail and Esther Kern Teed, he was born March 12, 1936 in Collins.

He was married to Charlene Pulver December 21, 1957 in Princeton, Mo. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, March 1994
