BATAVIA. J. H. "Red" ODUM died Thurs. at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines. Bur. Batavia Cemetery. Campbell Funeral Home in Batavia.

Born June 25, 1894, in Prairie City, son of John and Mary K. GOBBLE ODUM. Spent most of his life in the Abingdon and Batavia communities. Had worked as a carpenter and brick mason. Member Batavia Christian Church; Kilwinning Lodge No. 198, AF & AM, Batavia; veteran World War I.

Married June 1, 1925, Grace E. SMITH who survives. Other survivors include two sons, Raymond, Cleveland; Lew of Peoria, Ill., and four grandchildren. Preceded by seven sisters and three brothers.
