Gibson, FredFred Gibson died at his home on the Dr. Gorrell farm, northwest of Newton, Iowa, on Tuesday, August 27th, 1895, aged 36 years, 3 months and 3 days.
Mr. Gibson was born in England on the 24th of May 1859. He came to Iowa in 1882, and was married to Mrs. Martha Dempsey in 1891. Three or four of the family have been quite ill with typhoid fever; the remaining members of the family are recovering. Mr. Gibson has several relatives in this country.
The funeral services were held in the Sugar Grove Church, Rev. E. C. Brooks, of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Newton, preaching the sermon. The body was buried in the Metz (Sugar Grove) Cemetery.
