Dale W. Schlotfeldt

Dale W. Schlotfeldt, 90, of Heritage Manor, a former longtime owner-operator of Dale Schlotfeldt Oldsmobile-Cadillac in Newton, died of complications of pneumonia Tuesday, July 25, at the Manor.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

The Rev. William Calhoun, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 8 a.m. Friday. Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials to the First Presbyterian Church elevator fund or Shrine Crippled Children’s Hospitals will be accepted.

Survivors are a son, William “Bill” Schlotfeldt of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Patricia (Mrs. Pete) Koppin of Newton; four grandchildren, including Barbara (Mrs. Randy) Jackson of Newton; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Agnes, Jan. 8, 1989, and a sister, Margaret Fraizer.

Mr. Schlotfeldt was a member of the Newton Chapter 100 of the Order of Eastern Star and White Shrine, First Presbyterian Church, Newton Masonic Lodge 59 AF and AM, a Ga Zig Shrine, Tux Brigade, Newton Elks Lodge BPOE 1270, and was a past member of the Newton County Club, past president of the Newton Auto Dealers and past vice president of Iowa Auto Dealers Association.

Mr. Schlotfeldt was owner and operator of S and H Chevrolet Co. and Dale Scholtfeldt Oldsmobile-Cadillac which he started in 1929 and retired from in 1967.

The son of William Frederick and Agnes Elizabeth McDowell Schlotfeldt, he was born June 3, 1899 in Adair.

He was married to Agnes Bertha Klewer June 29, 1921 in Council Bluffs.
