Mary Ann Hayes was born June 16, 1826 and departed this life March 1st, 1900, near Killduff, Iowa. She was born in Baltimore, Md.

When six months old her parents moved to Perry Co., Ohio, where she was united in marriage to Pierson Bell, at the age of twenty-three. They then settled in Licking Co., Ohio, where they remained for 18 years, then they moved to Mercer Co., Ohio, where after a year’s residence they came to Jasper County, Iowa.

The husband died in Taylor County, Iowa, March 30, 1880. Six children were born to them, four boys and two girls. Two sons and two daughters are left to mourn the loss of a kind and affectionate mother, viz: Mrs. Ellen Davis of Everly, Ia., Mrs. Elizabeth Eicher of Ainsworth, Neb., John who lives near Reasnor and Ambros living now near Killduff. She was a Christian nearly all her life and a member of the Christian Church at Kellogg when she died. The funeral services were conducted at Mr. Zion M. E. Church on the 3rd inst (of this month) at 11 o’clock a. m., by Rev. A. S. Loveall, pastor of Newton circuit, after which interment was made in Mt.
