BAXTER -- Marie Madoll Davis Pieper, 94, of Colonial Manors in Baxter, formerly of Petunia Court in Kellogg, died today, March 9, at the Manor.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton.

The Rev. H. Eugene Cedarholm, pastor of the Newton First Lutheran Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 8 a.m. Friday. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials to the First Lutheran Church may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are two daughters, Juanita Stecher of Kellogg and Doris Hawk of Kellogg; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Elias Madoll in 1951, daughter Lauretta Verwers in 1971, step-son Edward Pieper, son of James “Bud” Madoll, second husband, Fred Pieper in 1975, and a sister, Cecile Trotter.

Mrs. Pieper was a member of the First Lutheran Church and a charter member of the Barrett Home Makers Club.

The daughter of John and Mary Meyer Davis, she was born Jan. 10, 1895 in Newton.

Mrs. Pieper, a homemaker, had resided in Gilman, Marshalltown, Metz and Newton before moving to Kellogg in 1975.
