Jimmie A. Small

Jimmie A. Small, 66, of 804 N. 5th Ave. W., a resident of Newton since 1958, died of cancer Saturday evening, Feb. 11, at the Skiff Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

The Rev. Jerry Brown, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 8 a.m. Tuesday. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions to a fund in his name may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Ruth; a son, Roger of Kellogg; three grandchildren; and a sister, Arlene (Mrs. Robert) Moses of Churdan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Marvin and Elston, a half-sister, Mildred Price, and a half-brother, Donald Price.

Mr. Small, who had driven a gravel truck for Guthrie County for many years, had worked as a station attendant for Dwayne Gray, Glenn Parrish and Bob Youngberg. Mr. Small also worked for himself prior to being employed by Henry Willemsen of Home Oil for 12 1/2 years. He retired in 1985 due to ill health.

The son of Joseph P. and Blanche Marchant Small, he was born Dec. 3, 1922 in Guthrie County.

He was married to Ruth Hood Oct. 18, 1952 in Panora.
