Elda Faidley dies Saturday; rites Tuesday

PRAIRIE CITY - Mrs. Clarence (Elda) Faidley Jr., 57, of Prairie City, a lifelong resident of Jasper Coutny died Saturday at the Clear View Manor in Prairie City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Prairie City Christian Church.

The Rev. Alexander Haines, pastor of the church, assisted by the Rev. Phil Coe of Sac City, a former pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.

Memorial contributions to a fund set up in Mrs. Faidley's name will be accepted. Memorials may be left at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City.

Survivors are her husband; a son, Frank of Prairie City; two daughters, Mrs. Gene (Margaret) Jennings Of Granger and mrs. Mark (Gaylene) Otto of Des Moines; a brother, Everett Wilson Jr. of Colfax; and a granddaughter, Amy Jennings.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Faidley was a member of the Prairie City Christian Church, treasurer of the Clear View Manor Guild, a member of Esther Circle and the Golden Rule Club.

The daughter of Everett and Lola Puzy Wilson, she was born Oct. 21, 1922 in Metz.

A 1940 graduate of Colfax Community High School, she attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa, April 12, 1980.
