Robert Clement Rites Scheduled For Saturday

Funeral services for Robert D. Clement, 65, of 616 E. 3rd St. S., a resident of Newton since 1936, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Community Reformed Church.

The Rev. Robert Block, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Wallace Funeral Home Friday evening and at the church after 9 a.m. Saturday.

Memorial contributions to the Community Reformed Church Memorial Fund will be accepted.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Connie L.) Erickson of Newton and Roberta Clement of Springfield, Mo.; two grandsons, Rodney Warrick of Newton and Randy Warrick of Laredo, Tex.; a great-grandson, Shawn Warrick of Laredo, Tex.; and two sisters, Mrs. George (Floma) Boitnott of Newton and Mrs. Minnie Guffey of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Louise Warrick; a brother, Cecil and four sisters, Grace, Thelma, Imogene and Violet.

Mr. Clement was a member of the Community Reformed Church, a member of the Consistory, a deacon and elder of the church and a member of the Jasper County Senior Citizens.

He had been a tool and die maker at Winpower Co.

The son of Daniel and Ida E. Shaffer Clement, he was born Sept. 6, 1914 in Mingo and was graduated from Mingo Community High School.

He was married to Edna L. Hood July 3, 1941 in Bethany, Mo.

He died Thursday morning at the Mercy Hsopital in Des Moines. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa, January 4, 1980.
