URBANDALE — Joyce Kehoe, 77, of Urbandale, formerly of Newton, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, at USA Healthcare — Newton.
Funeral services will be Saturday at noon at Hamilton's Funeral Home near Highland Memory Gardens in Des Moines with burial following at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. to greet friends.
The daughter of Ruth and Herbert Crenshaw, she was born July 23, 1928, in Newton. She married Richard Kehoe. She and her husband owned and operated the Yankee Clipper restaurant in Ankeny. She later worked for Terminex as a telemarketer and then at Prairie Meadows as a switchboard operator. She was a member of the Horseman's Benevolent and Protection Association and the ITBOA. She owned racing horses and enjoyed animals of all types. She lived most of her life in Des Moines but also lived in California, Rhode Island and Nebraska.
Survivors include her children, Ruth (Dennis) Summy of Osceola, Kenneth (Joyce) Brown of Atascadero, Calif., Bonita (Lee) Lathrop of West Des Moines and Anna (Lionel) Cratty of Colfax; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one granddaughter.
