GALESBURG, Ill. — Jerry Lee Holland, 45, of Galesburg, Ill., formerly of Newton, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the St. Luke United Methodist Church in Newton with the Rev. Linda Butler officiating. His body has been cremated. Burial will be at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton. Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.
The family will greet friends following services with a coffee time at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be left at the church on the afternoon of the service or at the funeral home.
The son of Silas "Pete" Holland Jr. and Donna M. Worthy, he was born Sept. 6, 1960, in Grinnell. He grew up in Newton and graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1978. He worked for Meisner Electric in Newton for two years. He lived in Galesburg, Ill., since 1992. He was a cook at Broadview on the Square in Galesburg, Ill. He was an avid golfer and fisherman.
Survivors include his mother, Donna Holland of Newton; a sister, Janet (Dennis) Jansma of Newton; a niece; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, John; maternal grandparents, Herbert and Ellen Woody; and paternal grandparents, Silas and Irene Holland.
