PRAIRIE CITY — Norma I. Brubaker, 87, of Prairie City died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, at the New Sharon Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Prairie City Church of the Brethren. Burial will take place at Waveland Cemetery.
Visitation will be held today from 2 to 8 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to Prairie City Church of the Brethren.
The daughter of Arthur R. and Ceres Ethel (Whitcomb) Vroom, she was born on April 29, 1918, in Prairie City. She graduated from Prairie City High School in 1935. On April 29, 1938, she married Leo L. Brubaker in Prairie City. She was a member of the Prairie City Church of the Brethren, where she was a longtime Sunday school superintendent, active in Women's Fellowship and a lifetime deaconess. She enjoyed raising daylilies and collecting antique dishes.
She is survived by her daughters, Marlene (Richard) Smith of New Sharon and Noralee (Robert) Warrick of Prairie City; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lois Vande Lune of Pella.
Her husband, parents, a granddaughter, two great-grandsons and a sister, Jean Hutchison, preceded her in death.
